Joulu on taas siirtynyt muistojen
joukkoon <ja tietysti kaikilla oli paljon
hauskaa kun söiväit va)tsansa tupaten
täyteen 'joulukalkkuna ja muita hetk-kuja.
Joululahijatkin varmasti kohen­sivat
mielialaa. A f i ^ ^ väki on
palannut takaisin' töihin ja, elämme;
jo arkielämää, mutta lapset saavat^
vielä viikon päivät nauttia joululo­mastaan
ennenkuin: palaavait .takaisin
kouluun. Nythän lapsilla on paljon
aikaa kiitjoittaa Sedälle da onhan al-hettaklirkun
kertoo joitluajan tapah-tumfsta.

ennen joulua; mutta ne eivät ehtineet

Despite the heavy toll of accid
Christmas holidays, we w(jre amöng those who got through
the festivities without a scratch. We were eveh fortunate
enough to get by without haying to resort to the sefvices of
tow trucks, although the rÖads and streets were in treacher-ous
shape for many days. Anä"if our luck continues, we
should be able to make the same abservations once the New
Year has* been ushered in. ^
But before we forgetj we would like to wish ali our
readers a prosperous and peaceful New Year. And* at this
time there does seem lo be iiöpö that the New Year wiH not
be saddened by war. . ,
The recent experience in Egjrpt has again demonstrated
the futiiity of war. The brief skirmish succeeded. only in:
bringing death and destructiön to the Egyptian people who
wereinnocentvictims of aggression, Nothingwassettt^
and the Suez Canal was put out of Commission for many
months. Now the dispute is being resolved through nego-tiations,
with the aggressors, Britain, France and Israel in*a
iarworse position thanthey were prior to the attack.
And thät is the way it should be. An attaoking nation,
despite the circumstances should be condemned by ali of ^
humanity for resorting to arms. That is the .only way peace
can be maintained in a World torn by tensions.
We hope also that the New Year wirbring added, en-*,
thusiasm to our activities. .There are many thirigs to do- in j.
the coming year and ih order to ido them properly, we'll haye
to roll up our sleeves and pitch in at the very beginning of
the year.
It is good to be able to look back at a year of achieve-ment.
Let'sseeifwe can,make the coming year a year of
real accomplishment!
