Where specific Members are integral parts of the news story, their names belong in it. Put "meat" into your news and at the same time it is well to call attention to the fact that you had some fun. When To Publicize--While it is fresh. For coming special occasions, it is often well to give the public a sniff ahead of time of what is. cooking; thus whetting the appetites. Then, when the appointed time comes, serve it piping hot. Where To Publicize-Is in your home community. That is where your Branch is personally known and the news of its doings is of the most interest. Beyond that, it is fine if your story can make the next-largest paper-the one that surrounding Constituencies have in common. Those Members want to read about your Branch, and you about theirs. Papers aim to print what is wanted. The General Federation of Women's Clubs with Headquarters in Washington, D.C. gave permission to use the following materia1-tobe of help to our Publicity Chairmen. "Y QU have one of the most interesting and important jobs in Club Work. You can do it well, with or without previous training, if you follow a few simple rules, study your clubs and your community and familiarize yourself with every available outlet for publicity. You will need to be informed. You will want to be enthusiastic. "Allover the country there are monuments to the accomplishments of Club women. They are not carved in stone or painted on the murals of public buildings, but they are to be seen everywhere-in libraries, bookmobiles, health and dental clinics, hospitals, playgrounds, recreation centres and in hundreds of other improvements which we take for granted today, but for which America's Club women pioneered.
