MRS. GEORGE LAIGET
Mrs. L a i girt ( E t h e l V i c t o r i a Wollard) was horn i n
Ontario on January 13, 1882. Her parents were Bernard and
Annie Woo H a r d both of E n g l i s h o r i g i n . She had no s p e c i al
occupation before her marriage t o George L a i g h t on September
7 , 1904. Mrs. L a i g h t was the mother of f i v e c h i l d r e n : three
daughters and two sons - one son i s deceased. There are
eighteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Mrs. Laight has been a member of the Winterburn V/. I .
since 1930 and had p r e v i o u s l y belonged t o the B u f f i e l d branch
before moving to Winterburn. She has served as president,
v i c e - p r e s i d e n t and d i r e c t o r . Since 1942 she has acted on the
Plower Committee:. Her other i n t e r e s t s include membership i n
the I. O'. D. E. and C h r i s t Church Women's A s s o c i a t i o n . Her hobbies
are her garden and her f l o w e r s.
The Laights l i v e i n Edmonton but she remains an a c t i ve
member of a l l that Winterburn W. I. branch undertakes. She was
presented with her L i f e Membership i n the A l b e r t a Women's Insti
t u t e s i n I960 by the Winterburn W. I. of which she has been a
member f o r t h i r t y years.
