MRS. ALBERT WILLIAMS
Born to Thomas A. and Lucy Adams Campbell, a daughter,
Florence, on September 27, 1883 at Modoc, Ontario. Florence
grew up i n Ontario r e c e i v i n g her education at Queensborough
schools and then came west with her parents.
She went to work f o r her brother as cook f o r the bridge
crew who were b u i l d i n g the f i r s t bridge across the b i g Red Deer
River at Sundre. I t was here that she met and l a t e r married
A l b e r t W i l l i a m s . They went to Westward Ho to make t h e i r home.
T h e i r home became a stopping place f o r t r a v e l l e r s as they l i v ed
on the road west from Olds which i s now Highway 27.
The Williams became the parents of three c h i l d r e n . ' Their
only daughter died at the e a r l y age of s i x t e e n . The two sons
served t h e i r country during the Second World War. Jack, who
was with the Engineers, l o s t h i s l i f e i n I t a l y . Albert served
