I thought it was about time that
I wrot€ to this wonderful page again.
How has everybody been feeling? I
^aven't been feeling very^ well. I
got at least 7 needles on Thursday.
I . h a d my toe frozen with 5 needles
and my naU cut into half. Tlicn I
got another needle in my arm to
ease the pain i n my toe. I also got
a hypo at half past nine.
It is seven o'clock and I guess I'll
leave this for half an hour and listen
to "Pat Man".
Here I am finishing this letter
again. The program was very gocd
tonight. It always is pretty good. "VVe
alvvays listen to it.
Father and mother bought me a
record-player Tuesday. It is in a
suitcase. It runs by electricity. It
is veö' nice. I have my radio i n my
locker. I'll get it do\vn after I find
a find a place for it. There are 3
radios in this room already anyway,
not couhting mine.
Soon it w l l be Septembcr and the
kids will be going back to school. I

It went to Minnow Lake but we
moved home since t wrote last. I was

I passed to Grade 4 last spring. I

My brother Ferdy is working at* a

since he left,

järvellä. Me näimme mustan karhun

mennä Hopeakoskelle myös mutta
kun ei saatu venettä niin ei päästy­kään,
se koski on pienen Koira L a ­ken
ja i.^^on Kcira Laken välillä.
Isä ja prä.> meidän naapuri maalasi­vat
meidän uuden navetan punaiseksi.
Täällä cn ollut kuumaa mutta nyt
ukkonen jyrrää. joten ehkä vähän jo
jäähtyy. Minä en olisi kirjoittamassa
tätä kirjettä vieläkään mutta kun olin
uima.ssa ajoi ukkcner. minut kotiin.
Lsäni ja äitini kävivät huvimatkalla
Torontcssa. He olivat kaksi viikkoa
.sillä reisula. Meidän naapurimme
kävivät huvimatkalla myös niutta he
elivät Amerikan puolella ja lännellä.
Jokohan lopettaisin. Kirjoitan tois­ten
lisää. Hauskoja marjSmatkcja
perheen nuoremmille'.

long time. I've started many lettcrs
but never finished them.
T h a n ^ a l8t for the nice birthday
cärd. sister Margaret.
My mom and dad made a trip to
Toronto. They went « i t h mrs. and
mrs. Pitkänen in a truck. They went
on June 12th and got back on the
25th. They vent to Toronto, Hornby
and Niagara Falls. They sure enjoy-ed
the trip.
We were at Littie Dog Lake two
weeks ago Sunday and boy, dld we
ever have f un! .We were i n swlmming
most of the time. We went by truck
part of the way and thcn walked the
rest of the way. On the way back
we saw a nice black bear. It was right
in thie mlddle of the road when we
came along wlth the truck.
I stayed out In the sun for too long
a time. I burnt my back and it was
very sore the next day.
The circus was here last we8k and
wewere there Wednesday. Was thcrc
ever a lot of people! We saw the
grandstand and it was qulte good.
We have ali our hay made already]
for this year and am I ever glad
about it also.
Weil, I think this will be enouph
for now SO a very nice fall to every-one.

It is Tuesday today and we Juf^'.
left Port Arthur. We arc going on a
long tflp to Finland. We wlll hc
in Sudbury tonight. It has been
very nice in this train. not too hot
and not too many people. In New
York we will catch the shlp "Stock­holm",
oni of the SwedLsh Americnn
Line. I have never been on a big
ship. I hope I enjoy it. I will miss
two months of school though.
Arvo, my cousm, stayed home to
look after thlngs, now he'll have to
leam how to cook. He stlU gocs ;to
work though.

I haven't had very much time to
do any \\Titing because I had a calf
to take care of. I am scnding a
Picture cf my calf and'myself. I got
over fifty dollars fcr It.
A big bam burnt to the grouno
across the road from us. Four pure-bred
calves \vcre burnt and some
pigs. Six pigs got loose. One had to
be kiUcd because it \vas burnt so
badly. Next moring my brothers and
I went ovcr to see \vhat \ve could do
to help. He told us to start looking
for the pigs. I found three hidden
in some bushes. The other two came
home later. A couple of months bc-fore
there was a fire in the vUlage.

damage \vas done. One \voman faint-ed
like \vcmcn often do.'
My cousin \vas over from Saskat­chewan.
I bought a bike. It was a s\vell
bai-gain.
At school we had a bascballteam.

Not bad. eh?

with a .22 liflc. It wcighcd around
3 pound-s.
