by the Davis Government It is
a policy which is very definitely
committed to ensuring that
private enterprise at ali levels
is strengthened and enriched
no matter what the cost to the
great Ontario public
1979 is just another ex-am- ple
of provincial budgets
vvhich have become famous for
grants concessions tax breaks
and incentives af ali kinds to
encourage and enhance the
private corporate sector
However Mr Miller's
budget goes one step further by
setting up what has become
characterized as 'a slush fund'
of $200 million a fund vvhich
will be out to corpo--
rations on the basis that they
have plans to provide new jobs
orto save existing jobs
Perhaps a good example of
what the government has in
mind is Canada's Auto Parts
Industry - an industry vvhich has
consistently lobbied the Onta--
technological change
Technological advance to
speed the production process
and eliminate manpower has
alvvays been prime means of
increasing profitability This is

chronic unemployment situa--
