• Council members shared information from the Constituency and District meetings attended. All *- « m were well attended and successful by all accounts. Interesting speakers were provided and round table discussions regarding AWI were held at most meetings, e. New Brochure The new brochure was distributed and will be available at convention for branches to take. Directors were asked to encourage their members to include these in any promotional packages they provide for speakers and new- member prospects. 5. Financial Update: a. Review of current status • Council members reviewed a financial statement to April 30, 2001. Office expenses were higher than previous years due to the move and support salaries that were included in this category until our new accounting system were in place. This current statement will be presented at the convention along with the year- end review. b. Honoraria Review: • The honoraria amounts given to each executive member was reviewed. The question of when the last review of these amounts was unable to be determined. Motion # 2 - Moved by Ada Ashton we increase the honorium of executive by $ 25.00 each. President to $ 775.00, President Elect & Vice President to $ 375.00. Seconded by Darlene Hallett. Defeated. Motion # 3 - Moved by Darlene Hallett that the annual honorium be increased to $ 1000.00 for President, $ 500.00 each for President Elect and Vice President. Seconded by Diane Smith. Carried. Recorded votes - 6 in favor, 1 opposed. Ada Ashton requested the minutes to record her vote as not in favour. c. FWIC Magazine Order: • A review of the number of magazines ordered indicated that a surplus number have been ordered in the past few years. When forwarding the FWIC dues 145 copies were ordered to be distributed as follows: One per branch, One per Council member, One per each C. C., One each for Resolutions Chair, Handicraft Convener and Editor. d. Restricted Funding • Maxean reviewed the amount of money that is being held in restricted accounts: - memorial donations: farm safety day camps: girls' clubs and leadership development. Branches should be encouraged to apply for project seed money if they have a project that might qualify. e. Sales Items: • New sales items this year were displayed. Stainless steel and glass mugs with the AWI logo etched on the side; rocks with the logo to be used as decorative paper weights; and a wild rose window sticker were the new items for sale at convention. • Questions regarding the T- shirts with the Alberta Rose AWI emblem were raised. Anyone wanting to order these can request from the office. If ordered at convention and pre- paid no shipping fee will be charged. Orders without payment will be charged shipping. This applies to all merchandise ordered at convention that needs to be ordered. 6. Correspondence a. A correspondence file was distributed for council members to review. Letters from the District One Constituency meeting and the editor were read and discussed. 7. New Business: - 2 -
