OBITUARIES
COOK - MARGARET MURIEL
was born on March 11, 1916 at
Bashaw, AB and passed to her
rest in Bashaw on Feb. 7, 2001
at the age of 84 years.
Margaret was raised on the
family farm on the shores of
Buffalo Lake. She and her husband
Ted spent most of their
married years living and raising
their family in Stettler. Upon
retirement they built a house at
Whitesands where they spent
several years enjoying visits
from family and friends and
enjoying the peace and tranquility
of " the lake" with all its
wildlife. Upon Ted's passing
Margaret moved to Lakeside in
Bashaw. She enjoyed playing
bridge with her family and
friends and travelled as much
as she could. She was a gracious
lady who in her later
years never failed to say thank
you to those who cared for her
at the Bashaw Health Centre.
She was a member of the
Bashaw W. I., the Rockling Bay
Club and the Bashaw Library
Board as well as the UCW in
Stettler and then Bashaw. She
loved a good visit as well as a
good laugh any time. She was
especially proud of her grandchildren
and great- grandchildren
and will be missed by all.
Margaret will be lovingly
remembered by her two sons
Barrie ( Alice) Cook of
Redwater, AB, Rick ( Debby)
Cook of Edmonton, AB; two
daughters Joan ( Dave) Kelsey
of Sun City, CA, and Mary Ellen
Docherty of Bashaw; five
granddaughters, three grandsons,
two great- granddaughters
and four great- grandsons;
three sisters Thelma Hoy,
Claire Pearson and Donna
Bulduc all of Bashaw; as well
as numerous other relatives
and friends. She was predeceased
by her husband Ted in
1983; three brothers Gordon,
Keith and Darrall Pearson.
Funeral services were held
from the Bashaw United
Church on Monday, Feb. 12,
2001 at 2 p. m. with Rev. Frank
Johnson officiating. Interment
followed in the Bashaw
Cemetery. Memorial donations
may be made to the Bashaw
Health Centre - Long Term
Care Facility, the Bashaw
Cemetery Fund or charity of
donor's choice. Bashaw
