This award was introduced by the Federa t e d Womens Institutes of Canada in 1991 to recognize t h o s e men w h o have made o u t s t a n d i n g c o n t r i b u t i o n s t o the Womens' Institute movement. Only one award is given in Alberta each year L This year's winner is Mr. Harold Fox of the H i l l s d o w n area. Over the past 53 years, Harold has been a helper to his wife Ada and other WI members. He has d r i v e n t h e m to all s o r t s of a c t i v i t i es in all kinds of weather. He Is the Mr. Fix- it in his community, repairing things f r om coffee pots to chairs. As well, he cuts quilt blocks for the many quilts t h e Hills d o w n ladies make each year. Harold was presented this prestigious award at AWI Provincial Convention in Olds in June. 2000 by Diane Smith. District 1 Director.
