Michael Helps Mom Teressa Greening & Manon Brown Women's Institutes members to attend F. W. I. C. Convention in Quebec Alberta Women's Insmutes Members Blanche Cunningham and Brenda Willsie eagerly anticipate attending the Federated Women's Institutes Convention in Lenoxville, Quebec on June 24 - 28, 2003. Blanche Cunningham, branch life- member of Cottonwood W. I., and Alberta Women's Institutes District 5 Director, and Brenda Willsie, President of Cottonwood W. I. and Alhcria Women's Institutes Classroom Agriculture Program Convener are two ol the delegates attending from Alberta. Women's Institutes, now in their 106th year is part of a world wide organization of over 90 million women who strive to better themselves through personal growth, education and communication. Many interesting speakers at the Convention include Ann Medina of C B C Radio fame, guest speaker at the ceremonies, and Ashton Sewlal, wrap up speaker. The delegates look forward to the many educational workshops and the tour to the Eastern Townships of La Belle Province complete with a Sugar Shack supper and traditional Quebec entertainment. Highlight of Ihe Alberta delegation will be the formal invitation to all provinces to attend the F. W. I. C. Convention in Red Deer in 2006. E r l a n d L e e W i n n er Alberta Women's Institutes presented Roy Brown of Pine Lake, Alberta the Erland Lee Appreciation Award at their annual convention June 5, 2003 held in Camrose, Alberta. This prestigious award is presented by Federated Women's Institutes of Canada to a man. who most exemplifies those qualities of Erland Lee which led the founding of Women's Institutes; an organization which spread across Canada and grew to include millions of women worldwide. Women's Institutes are currently in their .106fh year in Canada. - Pictured below is Roy and Mildred Lutz, President of Alberta Women's Institutes making the presentation, and Roy's wife, Marion, Federated Women's Institutes of Canada Executive Officer for Alberta. Marion is also a 47 year charter member of Pine Lake W. I. and it's current secretary. Marion and Roy will be attending Federated Women's Institutes of Canada Convention in Lenoxville, Quebec, June 24 - 28. The Erland Lee Award Winners will be honoured at this time.
