Volunteers Needed: Nit all Constituencies have found a esnvenerl If your Constituency is one ^ ^> of these, how can you solve this situation? Conveners are necessary to communicate the information from Council to the Branches. If your Constituency is leaderless, what about Branches taking on the leadership role on a rotating basis? Or do you have a better way to address this vacancy? These Constituencies are missing a vital link in our organization. Let's brainstorm to come up with some innovative ideas on how to solve the WacaHCV Problem. HOW DID WE STACK VP? Many of you who attended our June Convention took the time to fill out the evaluation form For this, I thank you. It seems a pain at the time, but when you indicate your likes and dislikes, we can improve on the event. From the 150 + responses, you indicated that: => The largest number of attendees were relatively new members - less than 10 years of W. I membership. Terrific! New members do attend! => 83% of you liked the accommodation at Olds College. We should remember that the convention is a good time to get opinions from all branches and therefore some business topics need to be undertaken at a Convention. As we continue to evolve change within our organization, the convention is the perfect venue to express your opinions. => 40% of you responded that you prefer two half days, plus one whole day and 50% responded one whole day plus one- half day ( shorter). The new council will need to review these opinions and consult with their Districts before we decide the length of future conventions. Thank you again for your responses. The incoming council now has some benchmarks to make future Convention decisions around. Our goal is to continue to provide a Convention that everyone will want to attend no matter where you live in the Province. News from ti? e office Due to the generous support of the membership, we have forwarded funds in the amount of $ 7,055.51 to the following projects. Pennies for Friendship $ 4,001.10 ACWW Area project for Canada $ 987.00 FWIC Hoodless Upkeep $ 1,406.66 FWIC Novisi Project ' $ 304.75 FWIC Fridge Magnet Project $ 356.00 In Memory of Holly Hallett, AWI sent two girls from the AWI Girl's Clubs to attend the REDA Leadership camp at Goldeye this year. The girls were Rosemarie Braun and Christina van Besouw. The Communicate with Confidence project is now complete. The final report has been compiled and sent to the Alberta Agricultural Initiatives Program. The AWI Council is meeting in Edmonton at the end of September. During the meetings, we are expecting to have as guests our accountant, a representative from Alberta Agriculture Food and Rural Development plus a member from the Board Development Division of Community Services.
