T h e broader outlook, the firmer grasp of n a t i o n - w i d e problems, t h e f u n d o f i n f o r m a t i o n a c q u i r e d f r om c o n s u l t i n g together, gives b a c k t o o u r o w n o r g a n i z a t i on t h e greatest benefits. N E E D S O F Ovk O R G A N I Z A T I O N. T h e r e are t h r e e pressing needs i n o u r o r g a n i z a t i o n t o d a y as I see i t . F i r s t, D i s t r i c t Conferences. I believe i f w e a r e t o progress we m u s t e x t e n d a n d perfect o u r o r g a n i z a t i o n b y t h e m e a n s o f D i s t r i c t Conferences. F r o m t h e s t a n d p o i n t of t h e P r o v i n c i a l o r g a n i z a t i o n it h a s e v e r y t h i n g t o r e c o m m e n d i t ; f r om the s t a n d p o i nt of t h e D i s t r i c t i t i s d e s i r a b l e becasue i t offers a c o - o p e r a t i o n of effort a n d of i n t e r e s t s, develops leadership a n d offers o p p o r t u n i t i e s t o a m u c h larger n u m b e r of women. T h e a d d i t i o n a l expense seems t o b e t h e o n l y o b j e c t i o n . This, I g r a n t y o u , i s somet h i n g to be c o n s i d e r e d , b u t w e m u s t remember there i s s u c h a t h i n g as d e s t r u c t i ve economy, a n d i f w e h i n d e r o u r d e v e l o p m e n t a n d e x t e n s i o n b y t o o m u c h c u r t a i l m e nt t h e n do w e l o s e s i g h t of t h e b i g interest. Second, c o - o p e r a t i o n between conveners of S t a n d i n g C o m m i t t e e s a n d B r a n c h a n d C o n s t i t u e n c y C h a i r m e n . C o - o p e r a t i o n means w o r k i n g together, d e c i d i ng u p o n s o m e t h i n g to d o a n d d o i n g i t . N a t u r a l l y the c h a i r m e n l o o k t o t h e P r o v i n c i a l C o n v e n e r s for o u t l i n e s of p l a ns for the y e a r a n d i f these are n o t f o r t h c o m i n g t h e y a i e a l l a t s e a a s t o t h e i r duties. I believe the m o s t effective w a y t o meet t h i s p r o b l em w o u l d be f o r each P r o v i n c i al C o n v e n e r to prepare a concise o u t l i n e of h e r p l a n s a n d a i m s f o r t h e y e a r , one t h a t c o u l d be p r i n t e d o n t h e f o u r Bides of a p a m p h l e t the s i z e of a n envelope.
