[ onstituency Conference was held at
the Red Deer Museum on May 5.
Bob Schnell brought greetings from
• the City of Red Deer and Morris
Flew welling from the Museum.
I Convener Helen Williams
introduced the head table guests—
\ W1 president- elect Doris Northey;
District 3 Director Grace Grover; Fave
Mayberry. Alberta representative for
I the Federated Women's Institutes ol
( Canada. and Carol Tronnes
\ constituency secretary.
I Following O Canada, the Mary
Stewart Collect was repeated.
The Memorial was conducted by
• Faye Mayberry, assisted by pianist
Kathleen Lawrence. Readings and
[ roses were presented for Alice Comfort
land Leila Bodwell by Donna
iMacKenzie; for Sandy Siemens and
Lottie Leader by Beatrice Ganler; for
I Dorothy Bickley by Faye Mayberry. A
moment of silence was observed in
their memory,
i Grace Grover look part in the
i business portion of the conference wiif
I information on past and future WI
I activities.
Bettie Ditzler, Lacombe PHE, was
the morning guest speaker, introducec
, by Pat Mayne. Bcttie's topic Farm
Families was very informative and
much appreciated.
March for Pennies for Friendship
, was followed by the WI grace.
Luncheons for ( he conference,
judging day, and handicraft tea were
all convened by constituency home
economics convener Marion Brown.
Afternoon speakers. Judy Kuhan and
Debra Tetrault from the CNIB, were
introduced by Vi Moore. They gave
an excellent presentation and display.
Doris Northey spoke on future AWI
I and Associated County Women oTlrTe
World activities.
After thanking all those who helped
make the handicraft display a success,
handicraft convener Gayle Olson gave
her report in detail.
Two education conveners
volunteered for the incoming term.
Doris Warke for citizenship and Faye
Mayberry for agriculture.
Two projects have been completed
for Unit 37 RDRHC. They are eight
hospital gowns and 25 pairs of slippers
and bed socks.
The courtesy report was given by
Shar Pickering and God Save the
Queen brought the 1995 conference to
a close.
